Dr. Hermeen Dhillon
Hospitalist and Addictions Physician – Surrey, BC
Prior to medicine, I completed my BSc in Neurobiology and Psychology at UBC. Following this, I went on to pursue medicine at UBC as a part of the Northern Medical Program.
I plan to maintain a full-scope practice working both with inpatients as a Hospitalist and with outpatients in a full-service family medicine clinic. Additionally, I have a keen interest in Addictions Medicine and Women’s Health and hope to incorporate these fields into my practice as well.

Founder of this platform and in awe of the amazing people who have made it into what it is today. In a past life I was an Electrician, a Boiler Engineer, and Project Manager. My undergrad was in business and I love to continue to use business theory in public and non-profit organizations.
Medicine wise I am keen on acute care, emergency medicine, POCUS as well as external communications and would be interested in further pursuing organizational planning and management to leverage past life experience.
I am proud of Publication in the CFP around reduced mental health ER visits for aboriginal patients who had access to an Elder in Primary Care. As well as co-founding of Asa’s Adventures with my incredible colleague and release of our first Children’s picture book in both digital and paper formats.
I am a (pre-pandemic) sourdough lover, 3rd wave coffee indulger, surf when I can, traveller and lover of ideas.

Dr. Chris Cochrane
Emergency Room Physician – Powell River, BC
I completed my BSc., MSc., and MD in Vancouver, BC before heading east to continue my journey in Southern Alberta.
I’m interested in event medicine, having provided care at several large triathlon races and created educational materials for these events, as well as POCUS and its everyday uses. Look out for videocasts on these topics!
I enjoy trail running, bicycle touring, kayaking, skate-skiing, ultimate frisbee and photography, as well as baking elaborate delicacies to help fuel my adventures. If you see me around ask about my bike tour from Vancouver to San Francisco, my self-guided kayak tour through Gwaii Haanas, or my 193km running race!
Dr. Kajsa Heyes

Pre-medicine experiences include full-time cross-country ski racing, running and paddling expeditions, working as a barista and as a case manager at a women’s shelter.
With what would look like major commitment issues to universities, I completed a 3-year undergraduate degree at 4 different institutions, finally graduating from Nipissing University with a triple minor in biology, chemistry and philosophy. I completed medical school at UBC’s Northern Medical Program in Prince George, where I loved just about every rotation I did. These broad experiences and a passion for general medicine helped guide me to rural family medicine Yellowknife, NWT.
I enjoy doing all the outdoor things in all the seasons, gardening, home improvement projects, and coffee to keep me going.

Growing up in Kamloops, BC, moving to Vancouver for medical school, and now living in Victoria for Family Medicine residency, my entire life has essentially been one slow journey westward.
My medical interests involve acute care and emergency medicine, addictions medicine, and medical education (especially the free online stuff! – #FOAMed).
In medical school, some of my prouder moments (aside from finally learning how to snowboard) include my PLOS publication about the use of cannabis among inner-city Vancouver’s street-involved youth, my four years and nine publications as a UBC Medical Journal Staff Writer, and a full-length pandemic-inspired music album that I co-wrote and recorded with a friend during our two-month medical school hiatus in the throes of COVID.
Outside of medicine, I’m about as cliché Pacific Northwest as they come: I’m a big fan of playing and creating music (if the album didn’t already give that away), exploring the great outdoors, and checking out the local coffee shops and craft beer scene.
Aikansha Chawla
PGY1 Obstetrics and Gynecology – McMaster University
My name is Aikansha Chawla and I am a third year medical student at McMaster University. Prior to Mac, I completed a 3 year BSc at The University of Western Ontario and one year of dental school at the University of Toronto before deciding that medicine was the path for me!
Outside of medical school, I enjoy traveling, spending quality time with family and friends and creating art! From painting to graphic design, I have been interested in art since I was a child and have been able to keep this hobby up by creating podcast art and infographics for The Generehlist. I look forward to continuing this passion of mine, while learning more about medicine and seeing where my journey through med school takes me.
Dr. Kyla Freeman
Family and Obstetrics Surgical Skills Physician (FM-OSS) – Canmore, AB
Kyla is from the interior of BC and spent a large part of her pre-medicine life in the service industry as a server/restaurant manager. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria, medical school through UBC’s Southern Medical Program in Kelowna, and is now completing a rural family medicine residency out of Lethbridge, Alberta.
She is passionate about rural maternity care and is part of the GenerEhlist Low Risk Obstetrics series team.
Beyond medicine, she enjoys biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, and paddle boarding.
Dr. Patricia Massel
Family Physician – Anywhere and Everywhere
Patty grew up in Ottawa, ON, but has been out west since her undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria. Her pre-medicine jobs include being a biochemist, a ski hill liftie and a wildland firefighter. She completed medical school in UBC’ Southern Medical Program in Kelowna, and is now in the Rural Family Medicine Residency Program in Red Deer Alberta.
Patty had too many areas of interest within medicine to keep track of, but she especially loves women’s health! She writes podcasts for the GenerEhlist’s Low Risk Obstetrics series.
In her spare time Patty loves skiing, mountain biking, and working with her husband on their ‘residency project’ – building a cedar strip canoe.
Caitlin Blewett
PGY1 – Nanaimo, BC
Caitlin was born and raised on the territory of the Musquem, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh peoples and has lived and worked all over the Pacific Northwest.
Before medicine, she lived a pretty blissful life in a Haida Gwaii home and worked any number of jobs including paramedic, volunteer firefighter, community engagement facilitator and General Manager of the Internet (seriously).
Now a Family Medicine Resident in Nanaimo, BC, she completed med school at the UBC Northern Medical Program and currently lives on Cowichan tribes territory. She loves all things reproductive health and especially loves being part of the The GenerEHlist Podcast Low-Risk OB team.
When not working, studying or applying for CaRMS, she can be found on the beach, chasing her toddler around and trying to teach her to eat fewer rocks and more seaweeds.

One small suggestion: any chance you can make the infographics high-resolution? They are okay on the phones but when you zoom into them they become blurry. Still clear enough to read but would appreciate a few more pixels.
